be kind

I love this.

I recently saw a poster of this
in my old High School's biology lab.

I was at my High School for a Parent/Coach
"meet and greet"
since I am going to be coaching one of the Middle School girls basketball teams.
I was talking with some of the parents in the lab I used to study biology in my
Junior year of High School.
My High School biology teacher, Melinda, was,
and still is, amazing.
She has battled cancer, adversity,
traveled all over the world,
fought for human, environmental and equal rights,
all the while having an incredibly
happy and optimistic disposition,
and maintaining a fire in her belly for experiencing life in
every way possible.

When I saw that poster on the door, I thought,
"What a great thing to remind High Schoolers
of when they leave the classroom."
I thought of Melinda's intention of putting that poster up so that
her students would walk out with more empathy and a softer heart.

Everyone should be reminded of that,
which is why I posted it today.
We all need to remember
that we all have our battle.
No matter how big or how small,
everyone is battling something.
And this is not to say that we all are dealing with
huge, negative, cloud covering up our blue skies
kind of problems.
No.
Positive things can be difficult.
Positive things can be stressful.
We can struggle through positive things just as much as
we struggle through negative things.

We all have our something that we're battling.
And because we are all battling something,
we all deserve be treated with kindness.

So, be kind.

Love,
liz xo
